The article elucidates the retrospective of breeding flowering plants in Laboratory Ornamental Plants National Botanical Garden (Institute) for about six decades, and also recent results obtained field. mobilization introduction into culture thousands intraspecifi c taxa generated unique collections ornamental plants, which served as a basis obtaining new varieties. More than 300 cultivars have been by: method induction mutations, directed hybridization, selection spontaneous mutations natural pollination. Approximately 150 varieties certified, homologated, some patented with support State Agency on Intellectual Property, abroad. Currently, 56 are registered maintained Catalog Plant Varieties Republic Moldova. In last decade, more 60 were selected, 12 patented. work breeders was appreciated gold silver medals, diplomas participation national international inventions exhibitions.
